I was saddened to hear that the price for what omg.lol offers will soon more than double. Of course, I understand Adam’s arguments and fully support them. It offers many interesting and unique features for the community, and when you consider what you get, it’s a small fee. But as I only use the Mastodon instance (social.lol), the upcoming fee seems high. I’m wondering what to do next. Should I switch instances? Or perhaps stay here for now, renew my subscription for another year at the current price, and then think it all over again?
To provide some context – as people from various countries read my posts – I should add that I have to multiply the dollar amounts by 4 to work out the price I’ll pay in my home currency.

@bstn@social.lol If there's a currency conversion or exchange rate complication here (which I realize happens and can be pretty rough with some currencies, so price increases can hit even harder on a practical level in those cases), just send me an email and I can help you you out. If you’re happy here, I don’t want you to feel like you have to make a change. I’m hoping that folks will take advantage of the month-long window to stock up on time at the current lower price, but I also totally get that not everyone can just plunk down some extra money all at once like that. In any case, just email me and I can help. This is a business, sure, but it’s also a community, and I’m not losing sight of that.
