@techokami@woof.tech i have not learned more programming than the html and css units of freecodecamp and im interested in ada. been looking up internationally standardized languages and i dont understand why rust got popular over this (i do, its called corporate pr and money, but eh)

@mana@woof.tech most likely it's because people assumed it was created by the US military (wrong: it was created by a Honeywell engineer in France and adopted by the US military as part of a multi-national project) and that it was slow, bloated, and hard to use (except these exact issues and their root causes are also in Rust and are why the Rust fanboys say their language is the best) Nowadays, the official Ada compiler is part of GCC, and the official language docs are one of the few FREE standards from ISO. It should get more attention imho
