"Happy hour" - The Housemartins
A song of such jollity and bonhomie that it's obviously covering something up. The lyric: an attack on the sexist culture of the time, which saw women as good for nothing but servicing the desires of rich men.
Fashion notes: the drummer and bassist both have t-shirts that were a la mode two years ago. And note how there's something on the scarves waved by the crowd.

"I can't stop" - Gary Numan TOTP evidently needs to give some sort of balance, pretend that right-wingers can make good music too. It's the same perfunctory electronic noodling he's made for the past seven years: metallic grunts, steely cymbals, a monotonous vocal. So bad that it should have been the BBC's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, except that's too international an event for Newman. #TOTP
