DOI registration using XML is a pain. I have ideas to make it as simple as one API call, but regrettably becoming a DOI registration agency is expensive af (read: ≥$35k/year)
in the meantime, enjoy my slowly expanding Rust library to generate compliant XML. just added support for books.
This is what underpins the super reliable registration at scale for @ResearchEquals

there's barely any rust development in scholarly communication so I bet this is a niche in a niche and won't see much use. doesn't make it less valuable.
