There are now 2.35 million EVs on British roads. Note that for all the attempts to push stories about EV interest being down, the rate of uptake is remarkably consistent but you can now see a distinct upward curve in the line.

The ZEV mandate introduces a phased, year-on-year increase in required zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales as a percentage of total manufacturer output. 2026: 33% for cars | 24% for vans 2027: 38% for cars | 34% for vans 2028: 52% for cars | 46% for vans 2029: 66% for cars | 58% for vans 2030: 80% for cars | 70% for vans 2035: 100% for both cars and vans So, 30% EVs this month is still a bit behind the requirement for 2026 but it shows that manufacturers are perfectly capable of meeting targets.
