@signalapp Since your president (the orange, not Meredith) just effectively declared war on Europe’s democracy I have a very hard time supporting anyone and anything that is located in the US. You do good and important work, but please do it from somewhere else, where you are not easily subjectable to fascist ‘law’

@signalapp Da ich nicht das Produkt sein möchte, unterstützte ich mit einer monatlichen Spende gerne eine Dienst. Ich finde die Einstellung von Signal gut und überzeugend und hoffe sehr, dass es sich so schnell nicht ändert. Dennoch wäre es toll, wenn man (ähnlich wie bei Wikipedia) sehen könnte, was an Geld noch benötigt wird. Beste Grüße und vielen Dank.

@signalapp Sure, just change the service to allow users to register without handing you their phone numbers or any other form of real life identifying information and I'll donate $100 on the same day the update drops! I'm not registering, sending a single cent or recommending anyone use this over https://matrix.org until then 👍 This is not a new complaint (https://community.signalusers.org/t/registration-without-a-phone-number/2222) and the fact that we are almost in the big '26 with no plans in sight to change this should raise some eyebrows

@signalapp I remember the day I donated $50 and got a silly little award in the app. I also remember losing that award 30d later and being asked to donate again.

@signalapp I always get an 'Unable to process donation' error on the app. I am trying to use an American Express INR card from India to process a recurring monthly donation. Any help? It's a miniscule amount, but hey I am doing this more for myself and my conscience, than for Signal as such.

@signalapp I occasionally donate to Signal, and would be willing to do monthly, but the minimum monthly is too much for me to afford. Not everyone is on a North American tech job salary. I originally backed WhatsApp for years before the acquisition, I now no longer use it for privacy concerns. But I find signal prohibitively expensive at the minimum level.

@signalapp Add a backup function (afaik there was one for Android for years) so that I can have my data outside of the App and make it open („federation“ or something like that). We saw enough how problematic centralized services are. Then I‘m happily donating!
