@LovesTha@floss.social @enobacon@urbanists.social There is another aspect to this. Should we cater to people driving a car to a place in the mountains where they then get exercise, because that’s what’s happening now. Why is the car person’s leisure more important than the cyclist’s leisure?
If a road is only meant for travelling by car, be honest about it and put up a sign that forbids pedestrians and cyclists, but then you’ll have to provide another route for them.

@ahltorp@mastodon.nu @enobacon@urbanists.social many of the roads I'm thinking about barely give consideration to pedestrians (and they are pretty rare, not much in walking distance in such areas, pedestrians are pretty rare). Good PT options should be the priority, but buses are probably the right call for most of such areas (too low density for anythng else to be viable). And then good bike options next, but probably not in a way that would make the road cyclists happy.
