@ahltorp@mastodon.nu @enobacon@urbanists.social many of the roads I'm thinking about barely give consideration to pedestrians (and they are pretty rare, not much in walking distance in such areas, pedestrians are pretty rare).
Good PT options should be the priority, but buses are probably the right call for most of such areas (too low density for anythng else to be viable).
And then good bike options next, but probably not in a way that would make the road cyclists happy.

@LovesTha@floss.social @enobacon@urbanists.social But pedestrians being rare doesn't mean that there isn't demand. There are a lot of times where the reason I don't walk to a certain place is because it would be too dangerous, or because the only safe route would be across a cornfield. (Cornfields are one of the few exceptions to the rule that you're allowed to walk on any land in Sweden) Distance plays a role, but when the next bus is in two days, walking for hours is often not an unattractive option.
