I'm not celebrating #July4th this year. I probably won't celebrate it ever again. Instead, I think I'll shift to celebrating America's "Second Founding," July 9. That's the date the 14th Amendment was adopted, providing for birthright citizenship and due process and equal rights for all. Basically everything you hate about the current Supreme Court is them undoing what the 14th Amendment does.
America's moral birthday dates from this Second Founding that guaranteed all citizens equal rights. I'm celebrating on July 9. https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/fourteenth_amendment_0

@msbellows@c.im I remember listening to Elie Mystal talk about the Constitution & Amendments and their pros n cons in their language. He said something like "I could probably do this in 3 maybe 4 amendments" if he were granted the ability to rewrite.
