@PaulaToThePeople@climatejustice.social This recent essay by me sort of helps explain what might seem like a sellout kind of behavior on my part. I don't think that it is, although ethics are complicated, trying to balance a lot of things. That's why I expose my reasoning, so you can see not only what I think but how I got there. https://climatejustice.social/@kentpitman/116828579977840510

  • @kentpitman@climatejustice.social I don't get the analogy, because you not uploading your pictures makes no difference if others do it, but if you don't talk to AI, nobody else will do it more to compensate. And you not using AI makes a huge difference: * you train your human intelligence instead of outsourcing the process of thinking to a machine that can't * you're not letting the likes of Elon Musk and Peter Thiel program your brain. * you're saving tons of water and energy, don't contribute to droughts, desertification and enormous rise of prices for everything - which hurts the poor the most. * you're not donating blood to the fossil industry that is on life support. * and most importantly you're not setting an example that all of this is okay and normal Like I said, I can't tell you how to live your life. But for your own and everybody else's sake I recommend you use https://noai.duckduckgo.com instead of pro-ecocide duckduckgo.
