@enobacon@urbanists.social There is a kernel of truth here, although his statement about "go ride in the mountains" goes against that kernel of truth. Riding for sport/leisure on roads that don't have room for cars and bikes to safely share in places that people probably do need to use cars and trucks frequently is pretty annoying. The answer is *not* buying more cars, it is to give good facilities to everyone. That doesn't mean every country road needs to be duplicated with a nice bike path. But some do.

    @LovesTha@floss.social @enobacon@urbanists.social Every part of a country needs to be reachable safely by foot and bicycle, with the possible exception of natural obstacles, there are no reasonable excuses. Cars and roads are not natural obstacles, but they are treated as if they were. Cars are treated as bears, crocodiles or tigers, and roads are treated as ravines. Let me take that back, bears would be shot if they threatened the number of people cars do.
