@LovesTha@floss.social @enobacon@urbanists.social Every part of a country needs to be reachable safely by foot and bicycle, with the possible exception of natural obstacles, there are no reasonable excuses.
Cars and roads are not natural obstacles, but they are treated as if they were. Cars are treated as bears, crocodiles or tigers, and roads are treated as ravines.
Let me take that back, bears would be shot if they threatened the number of people cars do.

@ahltorp@mastodon.nu @enobacon@urbanists.social Yes. Does every possible choice for exercise also need to have it's needs catered to? It's the cyclist V person riding somewhere divide. We should do a lot to ensure travelers riding bikes have good safe options. But the pack of cyclists grinding through a mountain pass? Some of those routes need a nice gravel bike path created (or better maintained and connected), but those road warrior cyclists are still going to take the road unless the dedicated option is also a road.
