Native plants store and share water for the habitat. The cup plant is a great example. The leaves clasp together at the stem to form a watertight cup. Storing water and sharing are wonderful characteristics! The cup plant gets big. It’s not a good choice for all sites. This striped leafhopper is happy. The cup of water is similar to a bird bath for the smaller creatures. #pollinators, #nativeplants, #minnesota, #gardening.
