this is why I strongly feel that we should steer away from shame *but* avoid complacence. Looked at hard enough, everyone will be doing something unhelpful, but that doesn't mean we should stalemate ourselves into inaction on anything. We could all do better, but there's a danger of using that as a sort of excuse not to do anything.

@stevo399@dragonscave.space In the same vane, if we can send our money in a more ethical direction, however much or little, we probably should. If enough people do that and different behaviour patterns start diffusing, those foregone $20/months will add up. Around Covid, I forget if it was during or after, tech stocks fell because people stopped using them as much, people sent their little bits of money elsewhere and it hurt the companies, albeit temporarily.
