I was riding my bike just enjoying the ride, and I ring my bell whenever I cross an intersection that seems empty and I’m going a bit fast, to, you know, be safe.
So there was a car behind me, and the driver assumed it was about him. He cornered me, and started screaming - like, A LOT, swearing, A LOT, “stop ringing that shit why are you ringing that shit you fucker just ride that fucking shit”. Like that.
I was very chill - dude, it was not with you, not everything is about you. But, like, shocked at how much rage a simple bell ring can cause on a driver.
Drivers need to ride bikes, feel the wind blowing on their face and let go of this rage, man. This can’t possibly be good for your health.
Anyway, I just kept riding.

@catzilla@toot.cat It might be that all that rage is repressed guilt at driving a murdermobile and knowing they could kill you only too easily, but it’s probably just standard road rage. It’s time we recognized cars on roads as a major source of mental breakdown.
