@j3j5@mastodon.uy @astro_jcm@mastodon.online It took me an embarrassingly long time to clearly grasp that the Chilean city where my in-laws live is located to the west, not the east, of Ruta 5. After all, the highway was on my right when I looked at the sun... That was before smartphones - I'd like to think that these days I would notice the discrepancy with maps on my phone more quickly. Not that I am any kind of astrophotographer, but I think it broadly applies to anyone interested in outdoor photography.
