@djlink@mastodon.gamedev.place to me, code is much like architecture, or photography: it is functional, it serves a purpose, but it is all filled with ideas, thoughts, and someone's craft. even when you make something purely from technical requirements, such that you do not have any leeway in how to make it, the art lives in the requirements themselves. are you building software such that each piece can individually be understood, improved, replaced ? the very fact of deciding to build software this way is an art form.
