@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com @amadeus@mstdn.social That's my fear as well. I've been pushing to have developers see that Linux is as viable for music production. I think the key is to make it as easy as possible for developers to support Linux, then numbers won't matter as much. But I'm not a developer, so I can't really speak to any knowledge about development.

  • @ercanbrack@mastodon.online I definitely hear where you're coming from! Part of me wonders if it's not kind of okay for Linux to have less audio stuff available. From my own experience, it has helped me focus on getting the sound I want before I hit record, which has honestly been life-changing, and has made it so that plug-ins that used to feel non-negotiable in my "workflow" now don't matter to me at all. That said, I think expanding the Linux ecosystem is generally a good thing! @amadeus@mstdn.social

    @@ercanbrack@mastodon.online Maybe you could talk to Chris Randall at #audiodamage. He has been in the VST game since early 2000s and while not being open source he has opened up to Linux a while ago
