@trabern@mas.to I was in college last time this happened. Same time that programs in the inner cities where I grew up were being cut in order to fund the military. That same president happened to be the governor of California when I was a kid. He did the same thing. And got elected as a reaction to what happened in Watts,South Central and Hunters Point.

@IveyJanette@mastodon.social That is such a meaningful perspective. And that we could see he was losing his marbles in front of the world--and yet somehow even that was more rational that all this.
