yes I've seen the bandcamp layoff news, yes I will get around to a diff solution for selling my albums
i know about faircamp, subvert, and mirlo, but I also have my own website already so might custom roll something on there - if you're a musician or label who is dealing with this as well I'd be keen to hear what you make of these services

i keep thinking about this thing i read about that went along the lines of "why do artists fixate on developing storefronts when asked about the kinds of website they'd like to make?" and i think it might be because the places we're supposed to trust to enable art-labour income keep taking the piss we seriously need a new way of affording artists the ability to succeed and thrive outside of "sell enough copies of your work", its not working for anyone
