I forgot the US have a holiday this Friday and found myself in a meeting last night with lots of USians and they reminded me that it's "a holiday to celebrate the divorce from your country"... so I congratulated them, paused, and thought... "do you find yourself regretting that?". The whole meeting nodding away and hands on foreheads and just down about the whole state of US politics recently. Yeah... not that the UK is any better, but somehow not quite as bad either. We agreed it would be better if we collectively allowed the UK and US to be mere vassals to a more adult nation or nations, maybe Canada, New Zealand or the EU.
