@tubbdoose@mas.to It is not a great time to be entering the job market when your skills & background are computer programming & news reporting. Must be a bit demoralizing.
But if you can use the time to build something (or fix up an old project) that would be useful to people on its own while also serving as a portfolio piece, that might give you something to stave off the drifting & disillusionment? Maybe an extension of your city council records bot, think of how else you can present that data so it's useful, since you already have set out how to fetch & parse it.
Are you staying in Vancouver or back in Edmonton?

I’ve been working on a thing like the city council bot except for tracking mark carney https://github.com/SamuelmdLow/Mark-Carney-Tracker Haven’t built the frontend yet but I plan for it to have a map of all the locations he’s been and what he did there as well has a straightforward chronological list. Was also thinking of attaching a blog where I could write weekly about what the government was announcing?
