My take: saying this kind of thing in 2026, when effectively the entire industry has already moved to using LLM-based agents as the primary IDE, is really naive. 'Code completion' was three years ago. You're only setting yourself up for having to walk this back later

@stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social as much as i respect the “purist” view, i see llm-based coding as the evolution of code completion. People are fighting this like the plague as if human code was flawless. Next to noone today codes in pure assembly unless they absolutely have to. I don’t hear those people demonize Go or Rust. Coding has only ever been a tool for creation. Regarding art however LLMs can get fucked though.
