Love the name of the program: “Solar Sharer”.
This kind of power sharing is an example of how infrastructure can tilt us toward a cultural shift of mindset: sharing—helping neighbors, protecting the biosphere—as the key to resilience and prosperity for oneself and community both.

Soaking up excess power is every bit as important for the stability of a power grid as having enough energy when the demand is high. There are electric grid operators in places with lots of solar and wind installed who are paying people several hundred dollars a year to let them put a battery in their back yard. These homes become small, silent, perfectly clean neighborhood power plants in the evening when the sun is down and people are firing up ovens and doing laundry.
