@leah@blahaj.social @mjd@mathstodon.xyz R still uses <- for assignment; back when I was using Emacs Speaks Statistics, you could use _ and <- would appear on the screen. These days, _ is used as a separator in variable names (as in, my_data) in the same way that . used to be.
