Irrepressible. Er, I own a weird custom keyboard but I don't know much about them. One thing I would say is that taking an existing similar keypad design in kicad (if you can find one), tweaking the schematic a bit to add/remove keys, and doing a new board layout to place the bits is probably not an absurd amount of work for a beginner. Sending the design off to be made is a pretty friendly process these days, too. None of it is totally simple but I think achievable without too much cursing (especially with some help, as offered). The only other fiddly bit is designing whatever enclosure it sits in and making sure it fits right, but looks like you may be already on to that?
