Whenever a woman does anything, the headlines always tell us if she's a mum.
Just once, I'd like to see a headline that reads "Dad launches IPO," after the SpaceX IPO last week.

@davidnjoku@mastodon.world my partner appeared in a newspaper article once and was described as a mum. She has no children, but I guess papers gotta pape.

@davidnjoku@mastodon.world The local (student-run) newspaper in the town where we used to live would often have subjects like "Pelham dads open pizza restaurant"... and I always wondered why it mattered that the people who opened the restaurant had children in their families.
