We are at a point where urgent emergency planning for future heat events will not happen, because it would undermine the political agenda of the parties that would need to initiate it. The CDU cannot act accordingly because they framed themselves into a corner where the climate catastrophe isn't that bad and AfD talking points are more important and the SPD has completely vanished behind them.

I personally believe that this will get really ugly really soon. People still heavily underestimate how vulnerable we are in such extreme heat events. There are far too many people, who never even heard about wet bulb temperatures or thought about the limits of our infrastructure.
