Hmmm, I thought that Mastodon was not text searchable but, after this post, I was followed by @spaceX011@toot.community which says it is Elon Musk. I have no doubt that it is not Musk, but I am curious about how it noticed me. (Blocked, BTW. I have no desire to deal with even fanbois of that creep)

@nzlemming@mastodon.nz Mastodon is opt-in text searchable these days (or opt-out? Not certain which default they chose). Since about a year ago IIRC. Plus various efforts by random “federate with everyone and get all posts” mechanisms that pop up (AI-scraping and other).
