Have you ever thought about how sexist the icon identifying the diaper changing table in (some) airplane lavatories is?
We can tell from the icon on the trash receptacle in the very same lavatory that the people who designed these icons know how to represent a person of indeterminate gender.
So why is the person changing the diaper portrayed as a woman?

For the record, the photos above were both taken from the lavatory of an American Airlines plane. Below is the equivalent photo taken from the lavatory of a Qantas Airlines plane the same day. So apparently Qantas is less sexist than American?
