@quinze@corteximplant.com @davidrevoy@framapiaf.org In the past I was handling renaming of a library package as a Debian Maintainer. There is some overhead comparing to just maintain the package, but as long as the maintainer is not fighting with the burnout already, it's not unbearable. So, yeah, I would gladly endorse such change.

My personal annoyance is livarot which is just awful, adwaita which is unpronounceable, camandblanch which is unspellable and gvfs which should never have been gnome specific but was because of its name.
