@thickurt@woof.group I don't really think it's practical to use any kind of social media or forum without the possibility of scrapers grabbing data. Even if you lock everything down to followers-only, a follower could be a bot.

@aphyr@woof.group @thickurt@woof.group - I have my account set that I have to approve a follower. In the rare event I do get a request, I check out their profile and activity first before approving. I know it's not fool proof, but there have been a couple of requests I denied. I've seen a couple of sites where to get approved for membership, you have to (1) submit a face pic, (2) receive an e-mailed confirmation code, and then (3) submit a second face pic while holding a handwritten sign with that code.
