Matsuya-Tōbee (松屋藤兵衛) took inspiration for their sweets from a small shrine in the grounds of nearby Imamiya-jinja (今宮神社).
Orihime-sha (織姫社), flanked by tributes in the shape of loom-shuttles, enshrines the goddess of weaving 'Takuhatachiji-hime' (栲幡千千姫命).

Originally guarding the weaving district of Nishijin, in 1788 Orihime-sha burnt with much of the city. Rebuilt in the grounds of Imamiya-jinja in 1792, people continue to pray here for improvement in craftsmanship. Keishō-in (桂昌院 1627-1705) is also enshrined here. #Japan
