Originally guarding the weaving district of Nishijin, in 1788 Orihime-sha burnt with much of the city.
Rebuilt in the grounds of Imamiya-jinja in 1792, people continue to pray here for improvement in craftsmanship.
Keishō-in (桂昌院 1627-1705) is also enshrined here.
