@davidaugust@mastodon.online It looks like old Putin is repeating the mistakes of the Soviet Union. The USSR's war in Afghanistan killed and maimed a generation of young men. But the true psychopath that Putin is, he doesn't care. In his mind, young working poor Russians can be sent to the front lines of his war to die.
