@Synchro@phpc.social Is this the idea of e-mail confirmation in general, or is it because this particular service doesn't need your e-mail to begin with? Asking because Russians keep signing me up for services that don't do e-mail validation, which opens me up for all sorts of abuse.

    @afilina@phpc.social No, I'm fine with an email loop on signup. What is annoying me more is those sites that seem to do it for almost every login, even when you have passkeys or TOTP 2FA. It's got to be a marketing antipattern, to annoy the less-frequent users who are most likely to stop using your site! It's even worse for sites that do this, and then don't allow enough time for access code messages to arrive due to greylisting, resulting in a near-lockout.
