Middle Earth
Late November in the eastern fjords of Iceland, and we stopped at Berunes to look across Berufjörður fjord.
The air temperature hovered around freezing all day, and the sun didn't rise more than 5° above the horizon in the south.
Beautiful Búlandstindur stood proud and pyramidal, 1069 metres of stepped basalt looking more like something from J.R.R. Tolkien than the east of Iceland.

@mo@icelandphotos.co.uk I mean, he did take a lot of his inspiration from the nordic countries. I don't know if he ever visited Iceland specifically, but he would have seen pictures. So - in a way - this is Tolkiens world. |this is the sort of place he imagined it happening.
