asking for #advice again, sorry. i'm now officially #diabetic (type 2) and looking to control it with diet. (hence the last request for advice.) information about nutrition on the internet has always been a hot mess, more so in these days of so-called "Al". can anyone reccomend an _authoritative_ source on the amount of carbohydrate in basic foods? searching online i see *wildly* different numbers for, eg, potato. i don't mind buying a book. feel free to boost.

@fishidwardrobe@mastodon.me.uk In Sweden we have Livsmedelsverket with a food nutrition database. Luckily it is available in English. https://www.livsmedelsverket.se/ The food nutrition database can be found under Food and content. You have to select English again to get it in English. (I AM impressed that the data base content is really in English). This is the single source I would trust. Example: Apple juice conc. 100g, 36.3g carbs. Monosaccharides 26,7g Disaccharides 7.4g. Free sugar 34g
