Constituent mailers have always exhibited a bit of bias in favour of the party that the member represents, but Conservatives have taken it way over the top! That the Parliament of Canada is forced to spend money mailing "constituent mailers" that are nothing but propaganda and lies is not acceptable. Just as there used to be a requirement in Ontario that Government ad's be screened and approved by the Auditor Generals Office (IIRC) to ensure a lack of political bias, so too should Constituent Mailers. I live in Rural Ontario and seeing the Conservatives drum up opposition to ALTO High Speed Rail, particularly as they used to have it in their party platform, is gob smacking. All of the towns around me are shrinking, they all make most of their money off of tourists, and their Conservative MP's and MPP's are opposing a project that'll bring in many, many more tourists. You cannot draw a straighter line between how Con's rhetoric doesn't match their actions. #CDNPoli #ONPoli
