@estelle@mstdn.social it'd be better news if we could actually get the choice to use those more than we get to, I swear plastic is forced on me constantly and I hate it

@eris@yourwalls.today yeah and biological materials would also break down on their own (if they were given a chance to... landfills aren't optimal for this, some landfill operators even vent the burnable gases that build up in landfills, burn it and sell the power) i can't imagine it would take much shuffling to make most cases make sense, and this can definitely be pursued when we find ourselves in a situation to try and do so currently i'd be happy if *any* business put a 222nm uv in their hvac somewhere,
