I've just posted a slightly grumpy reply to someone who deserved better, and I added the "rant", "grammar" and "nitpick" hashtags. My message was then boosted by three bots that follow those hashtags. Who on earth is setting up all these bots, and why?

@CppGuy@infosec.space I had that with gaming a couple of weeks ago. Seems there are bots that follow hashtags and then boost those. No follow or consent from you involved. I found it quite irritating. Fedi Groups is a different approach that I like and use. The hashtag bots can get stuffed.
