When you mention temperatures from your current heatwave to Americans from warmer parts of the US, and they're kinda like "rookie numbers". 😅

@mahryekuh@hachyderm.io Being from AU - sure, EU “hot” temperatures generate a chuckle. But there’s an appreciable difference that the raw numbers don’t describe. EU houses are built for the cold - they are designed to retain heat, and supplement it at peak winter. AU houses are built to prevent heat entering, and supplement cooling at peak summer. Put an AU house in EU, and the occupants will die from exposure in mid-November.
