People were willing to check a box, certainly.
How many of them follow thru is anyone's guess. But - you know who will? The scalpers. We have a market that has high demand and no real availability to most folks. You could easily buy it and flip it on ebay at a 100% markup. That's hard for the indifferent buyers to resist.
I'd bet money we see units on ebay within a few weeks at 100% markup.

@tbortels@infosec.exchange That wouldn't surprise me at all. I guess we will see if people end up completely buying out the supply fast enough that those scalped machines sell. I suspect they will sell just fine, which I would argue is part of the reason valve had no interest on subsidising their sale. Wonder what the number of units is planned to be in the first batch. I am sure glad I build my system right in the sweet spot a couple years ago. Would be beside myself if one of my parts failed now.
