#WritersCoffeeClub May 14: For characters, plots, ideas, settings, &c: how much is too much?
If you're spending so much time on them that it's keeping you from writing the actual manuscript, it's too much. If it hasn't gotten to that point yet, then it's not too much.

#WritersCoffeeClub May 15: Follow-up: and how little is not enough? If readers feel that the characters were flat, the plot too simple or too boring, or the setting too vague, then it wasn't enough. If nobody has any of those problems, then you did enough.
