Our ancestors also didn't live with the risk of being T-boned by a clapped out Altima at an intersection on the way to the wagecage. I mean sure, they'll take you to the ER whether you're insured or not, but if you're one of those poor bastards who works for a living while not having health insurance, one drunk driving nigger can turn you into a debt serf in an instant.

  • @Hoss@shitpost.cloud not strictly true, if your #autoinsurance #policy has #medical coverage auto insurance is a hell of a lot cheaper than a medical plan that covers anything worth shit

  • What is the percentage chance that is going to happen to a young man who would otherwise avoid tens of thousands in wasted earnings (annually) if he lived his life as though that wasn't a realistic contingency he needed to plan for? (It's not a realistic contingency, and acting like it is needs to stop)

@Hoss@shitpost.cloud @weknowwhygary@nicecrew.digital Medical bills are a special kind of animal. You can just ignore them. Just don't pay, simple as. They send you assmad letters for 7 years, then they go away.
