@alicetragedy@mastodon.social that is obviously true. I was just struck by this 30° threshhold which sounds exactly like my fellow countrymen, the Dutch, begging to be allowed to wear shorts to the office. Get a f_ing grip! But then if you're from Rome... ho sbagliato. Sorry.

  • @edgeofeurope@mastodon.social I know what you mean though, my original post didn’t take that into account at all, obviously the “baseline” should be different from country to country and as someone else pointed out, temperature can be very subjective based on location and external factors. Nevertheless there has to be something we can collectively do 😩

@edgeofeurope@mastodon.social @alicetragedy@mastodon.social There are disabled people and chronically ill people who can not function in this weather. I would advise not telling menopausal people to “get a grip” either. People in other countries are used to the heat, sure, but they also have the infrastructure to deal with it. 30 degrees with air conditioning is obviously different, wouldn’t you say? 30 degrees with siesta is also key. 30 degrees with education about symptoms of heat stroke, the amount of water you need to drink, and the importance of electrolytes is different.
