You just did, congrats!
The sidebar has a community wiki with FAQ that might answer most of your questions wiki.dbzer0.com/piracy/faq/ ; also be sure to check fmhy.net which will have a neatly organised list of website that might interest you depending on what you’re looking for.
Protect yourself: first and foremost, get a VPN, you can try ProtonVPN for free, Mullvlad is considered the best (arguably, but you don’t have the needs/knowledge yet for the nitpicky details to matter), a VPN will hide from your ISP where you go on the web, it’s a good privacy option even before piracy

+1 Port forwarding (advanced) Regarding Mullvad, which I am using, and this will be more relevant once you’ve familiarized yourself with the basics and if you choose to use torrents: since they don’t have port forwarding (making your torrenting application reachable from the internet), you will only ever be a so called passive seeder. If you, down the road, would want to contribute as much as possible, go for a VPN that supports port forwarding. But don’t focus on this for now. Bookmark it, or something.
