Opportunists of empire and of the left flock to each and every insurrectionary wave, seeking to coopt and demobilize it. Cowards tell us to act for ourselves while denigrating our every action for self-activity. So what if there were US monies in the country? At the Nepal insurrections last year, I converted the monies Grayzone claimed into pesos and it's just a price of a house loan. Laughable. Revolutions aren't cheap. Have these gentlemen seen a revolution? Organized a protest? How hard it is to mobilize people? That sometimes camps like Duterte and Marcos need paid protestors? Do you know how much paid protestors need and compare it to the monies claimed to have been used? Paid protestors, real ones like those tools at the senate during the debacle with Bato, are just there for the paycheck. The police know that, that's why they don't do shit. The violence of anarchic rage can't be paid for. It can be co-opted, but that's different. The natural state of the proletariat is apolicity. Our dependency on normalcy renders us as apolitical. The role of the paid protestors is the channeling of apolicity towards affirming normalcy. Mass political and antipolitical actions simply cannot be paid for. Do you know how miserable it is to be at a protest? How much we need rituals, friends, and comrades out there to be there? to make it fun and brave? Do you expect us to believe you can replace all that with cold hard cash and expect paid protestors to actually be there? The streets suck actually and protests are only awesome because we're awesome. You cannot replace solidarity with patronage and cash. Imperialism can never and will never buy solidarity. EVEN IF imperialists fund false-conscious class militancy, this still increases the morale of the class writ large. This is still a moment of decisive intervention by pro-revolutionaries. And our false friends would have us abandon the field of class struggle to opportunists?

@abolisyonista@ni.hil.ist it's like calling the Russian Revolution backed by German imperialism because they paid Lenin's train fare.
