The CEO of "We dont have time" and chairman of WSocial Ingmar Rentzhog said a couple of months ago an "advisor on the advisor board" said "before launch we must freeze the code at least 2 weeks before you do your presentation". "We understood the advice, but we didn't follow it because we are rushing things". .... great.... A few minutes later he then said (paraphrasing slightly as the audio was crap) "We are launching not because we are ready, but because we don't have time to wait". I'm not really sure what the rush is, that wasn't really explained, except for "DISINFORMATION!!! / MISINFORMATION!!!", which isn't exactly a new problem, why the rush now???? A guy that used to be the Head of Sustainability at Ericsson wanted to leave Twitter to an alternative when Musk took over. He asked Ingmar about it, who said "it's impossible, no-one can do it". 🤦‍♂️ Micropayments for paywalled articles is a good idea. That "W comes before X is pure coincidence" said Anna Zeiter.... sure... No advertising before Q4 27 or Q1 28. Interestingly, there is also a slide which say in theory there will be "Anonymous" accounts, where there is "human verification" done somehow, but no ID required. The Q&A wasn't really long enough, and no-one in the audience mentioned "The Fediverse" or Diaspora etc, which as we know would have been valid alternatives if there was so much of a "rush" as they keep mentioning.... @Gargron@mastodon.social @elena@aseachange.com
