In Upper Silesia, the metropolitan area has announced its intentions to have trains running from Katowice to the town of Bieruń (Bieruń Stary station, to be exact) every hour once the passenger infrastructure is properly restored (and work at Katowice station is complete) in 2029. This would be an extension of some of the trains currently terminating in Tychy Lodowisko. The newly-restored line to Łomża will only have three pairs of regional trains on weekends (four on working days) - less than the four required by the terms of the Kolej Plus scheme covering the investment.
